Our History
Team Stronger 2gether is an endeavor to bring people 2gether. We are students, families, community members, educators, businesses/entrepreneurs, faith-based organizations, and local government members.  Students have made this a project based on love for themselves, their families, and their community. 
Team Stronger 2gether is working to unite our community through mental health/physical health/spiritual or source of strength health.  We are spreading the message of small, daily improvements will lead to personal health, systemic changes, healthier environments, and healthier communities.  Contact us... we'd love for you to join us!!!
The Long Beach Poly CARE Center was established in 1997.  Through its counselors (Mr Paul Gonzalez and Mr Gray) and our Student Peer Mentors,  we yearly work with approximately 1,800 students.  Helping them find their way through mental health challenges, family/relationship challenges, school/academic challenges, and other life challenges has been our daily purpose.  Since 1997,  we have been ahead of school districts and government agencies regarding focusing on mental wellness skills and emotional intelligence skills.  When the CARE Center was going to be closed in 2018, the community outcry was loud.  We created 2 elective classes (Social Work and Community Advocacy in Action and Developing Future Mental Health Professionals) that kept our CARE Center open.  These classes have become incredibly popular and powerful.  Beginning now in 2023, the students in these classes are working to unite our community through mental wellness/physical wellness/spiritual or source of strength health.

Mr Gray is the C.A.R.E Center counselor/CTE Health Science teacher at Long Beach Polytechnic High School.   In unison with his students, he works to improve the school culture, school climate, and the mental health for 4,000 students and 200 faculty/staff members.  He has been Head Counselor at Long Beach Polytechnic HS and Educational Partnership HS .  Michael has led young people as an elementary school teacher and also as a Guidance Counselor at Stephens M S and Washington MS.  Beginning in 1984, he has helped 1000's of students become their most powerful selves.  Helping students learn, use, and share with others the skills of Emotional Intelligence and Mental Wellness.  Helping students to be prepared for the real world using these skills is how we create a better version of "Success".
